Tyrone S. Palmer is a writer and critical theorist who received his Ph.D. from Northwestern University in 2019. His research interests include Black critical thought, affect theory, poetics, negativity, and metaphysics. His book manuscript in-progress interrogates the centrality of affect to modern conceptions of the Human, and considers how the facticity of violence as the structuring condition of Black life informs Black literature’s thematic and formal explorations of affect. Tyrone’s writing has appeared or is forthcoming in Critical Ethnic Studies, Callaloo, SOULS, The New Inquiry, Gawker, The Offing, and Vinyl. He is the co-founder of the publishing collective True Leap Press, and co-editor of its journal Propter Nos.
