Amy E. Martin is Associate Professor of English at Mount Holyoke College. She is the author of Alter-Nations: Nationalisms, Terror, and the State in Nineteenth Century Britain and Ireland (2012). She has published articles in journals and collections such as The Field Day Review, Victorian Literature and Culture, Nineteenth Century Contexts,Victorian Review, and The Black and Green Atlantic, among others. She has lectured as a faculty member at Notre Dame's Irish Studies Summer Seminar and the James Joyce Summer School. She is at work on a new book project on Irish internationalism and critiques of empire in the nineteenth century and has recently lectured on this research at Princeton University's Fund for Irish Studies and the Irish Cultural Center at the Elms. She is also the chair of the English department at Mount Holyoke.
